About

Hi, I’m Nico!

I graduated from UC Berkeley in Spring 2021 and am very excited to be pursuing my Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford, finishing by the end of 2022!

Apart from my technical portfolio, which you can scroll through at your leisure, I am interested in and involved in several non-technical fields.

First and foremost, I spent my four years at UC Berkeley mentoring underprivileged elementary and middle schools with hands-on STEM activities with Berkeley Engineers and Mentors (BEAM). Having served as an executive member my last two years and been Co-President my senior year, I navigated the tough challenges of leading a non-profit organization through the COVID-19 pandemic while restructuring the fundamental ways in which we did things. Although difficult and incredibly draining at times, leading BEAM was the most meaningful part of my undergraduate years at UC Berkeley.

Aside from school, I have several other hobbies. Having been born in (and being a dual citizen of) Spain, I love the two most popular sports over there: soccer and tennis. I am a huge fan of the football club Atlético de Madrid and have been playing both sports for years. In addition, I have always had a fascination for geography, with lots of time as a kid having been spent memorizing countries, capitals, flags, and more. From all this, it becomes evident why my favorite event in the entire world is the World Cup, especially the 2010 World Cup when Spain won while I was in Madrid!

The only game I’ve ever attended (2017)! Atletico de Madrid 3 – 2 Celta de Vigo
